Chapter VII-An Unwanted Visitor
Chapter 7-An Unwanted Visitor
"Tyler, stop," Hayli giggled as he rolled on top of her, "I'm going to be late for class."
"Don't go today," he whispered as he hovered over her on their bed, "Practice is optional today and I wanted to take you out to lunch and spend the day with you. I haven't seen you in a week and I really just need you right now."
Hayli ran her fingers through his hair as his head rested on her stomach. Tyler wasn't playing as well as he would have liked and was being hard on himself.
Tyler smiled up at her slightly, "That feels good."
Hayli smiled lacing her hand with his, "Don't be so hard on yourself, Ty."
Tyler sighed, "I know, it's just I feel useless."
"You're not useless. You're an amazing player who will find his groove again. Even Malkin and Crosby have had rough patches. You'll be okay, Ty."
Tyler pushed himself up further and gave her a kiss, "I love you, baby."
"Mmm," Hayli moaned into the kiss, "I love you too."
Tyler smirked against her lips as he ran his hand up her bare thigh. It had been almost two weeks since they had sex. Hayli was busy with school and work while Tyler had been on the road.
"Ty," she moaned as his fingers traced her entrance.
"I love you, so much," he whispered as he kissed her while his fingers pumped in and out of her.
"Oh God," she cried out as he kissed his way down her stomach before using his mouth in sync with his fingers.
Hayli shuddered as Tyler sucked on her clit as she bucked against his face while screaming his name.
Tyler smirked as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. Hayli watched as he stood up from the bed and shed his boxers.
Climbing onto the bed, Tyler watched as Hayli shed the T-shirt she was wearing. Tyler smirked as he kissed her before gently laying her back on the bed, Tyler separated her legs and slowly pushed into her.
Hayli gasped as Tyler pulled put before thrusting into her once again, "You feel so good, baby," he whispered as he kissed her neck before making his way to her breast as he slowly moved inside of her.
"Harder, Tyler, please," Hayli begged as Tyler brought her to the edge slowly before collapsing on top of her kissing her slowly as he ran his fingers through her hair. Tyler spilled himself inside of her, Hayli smiled as they continued to kiss.
"I'm sorry," Tyler whispered, "If I have said anything these last couple of weeks that have hurt your feelings, I'm sorry."
"I'm over it, Tyler. I love you."
"In case I never told you, I'm proud of you. You are an amazing person and I'm so proud of you for going to school. I wish sometimes I had gone to college instead of going to the NHL but then I think I wouldn't have won the cup."
"I've always been so proud of you," Hayli replied running her hands through Tyler’s damp hair, "But to hear you say that you're proud of me means a lot."
"I'm also sorry you have given up practically your whole life to be with me. Sacrificing a full scholarship to Harvard was a lot but we didn't know that I would be drafted here. I know your parents hate me but at the end of the day, look how far we have come? You're my world Hayli, without you, I'm nothing. Most guys put hockey first but I try to put you first. I'm sorry if sometimes it's the opposite way but you are my everything."
Hayli felt like shit, she had cheated with Patrice on Tyler who had just spilled his heart out to her. She wanted to tell him everything but the Bruins were entering the playoffs and didn't need the stress of the two line mates fighting. Tyler also needed her and Hayli didn't want to be the one to blame for the season falling through.
Hayli wiped the tears away from her eyes, "I love you, so much Tyler. I never once have stopped."
Tyler smiled before kissing her again, "Come on, let's shower and go get some lunch."
Hayli took his outstretched hand and followed him to the bathroom where they showered together. Tyler held Hayli's back to his chest whispering how much he loved her as the spray fell around them.
Hayli knew she had to give up Patrice once and for all. She truly loved Tyler and he didn't deserve it.
After their shower was finished, Tyler wrapped a towel around Hayli and held her to him. Hayli wasn't used to this side of Tyler, in fact, this side of Tyler left when they came to Boston. He had his days where he told her he loved her and would shower her with affection, but today he was the Tyler she remembered falling in love with. His looks had changed drastically throughout the years but he still would do anything and everything for Hayli and his family.
"Where do you want to go," Tyler asked as Hayli tied her shoes.
Tyler had told her to dress casual but comfortable, so she wore a pink hoodie with a white tank top underneath and dark jeans with white Nikes. Tyler wore a gray hoodie with a white V-neck shirt underneath and jeans.
"I am dying for Starbucks," Hayli replied, "Let's go get coffee and walk around for a little bit then we'll get lunch."
"Sounds good," Tyler smiled grabbing his wallet from the nightstand before reaching for Hayli's hand.
Tyler set the alarm by the door and they headed down towards the elevator of their apartment building.
Tyler opened Hayli's car door and shut it as he walked around to his side and they drove into the heart of the city.
"What do you want," Tyler asked as they walked through the door of Starbucks.
"Grande mocha Frappuccino," Hayli replied.
"I'll get the double chocolaty chip Frappuccino with a shot of vanilla and we'll share," Tyler smiled and Hayli nodded her head in agreement as Tyler ordered.
Soon they were walking through the park in the heart of Boston hand in hand. Hayli sat down on the bench near the gazebo in the park as Tyler sat down next to her sliding an arm over her shoulders. Hayli and Tyler laughed as the two small children chased the lab puppy through the grass while their parents looked on.
"That puppy is adorable," Hayli said handing her cup to Tyler, who in return handed her his.
"Yeah it is," he replied, "The kids are cute too."
"They're all cute at that age," Hayli said as the puppy knocked over the small boy.
Tyler laughed before taking a deep breath, "We never talked about kids," he said, "We've pretty much have our entire life planned out, including our wedding but we never talked about kids."
Hayli smiled at the memory of her and Tyler planning their wedding together one night under the stars in Brampton. Tyler came home from Plymouth and both he and Hayli mapped out their future.
"I want two, maybe three," Hayli admitted, "I want one of each or maybe two girls and a boy like both of our parents."
"I want two," Tyler said, "Both boys. I'll teach them to skate, you teach them how to be gentlemen. We'll name one after me and one after both of our dads or Liam Tyler. If we have a daughter, I want her to look like you. I like the name Lily Skye but we can always think of more."
Tyler surprised himself at the life he suddenly wanted, Hayli nestled close to him and laid her head on his shoulder. Tyler kissed her forehead and held her tight as they continued watching the kids.
"Ty," Hayli whispered.
"Hm?"
"I love you!"
"I love you too, baby," he whispered as they finished their drinks enjoying the peace.
Tyler's phone broke them from their own little world as it started ringing. Tyler sighed as he answered, "Hello!"
"What's up babe," Tyler Brown said on the other end, "How's my wifey?"
Hayli groaned at the sound of his voice, she hated him. Tyler Brown had tried countless times to break her and Tyler up but always failed. To top it off, he was arrogant. An AHL player in Adirondack and in Hayli's opinion, a sucky attitude and an even worse hockey player. He made fun of Hayli all of the time when she would come visit Tyler in Plymouth.
One time he tried getting Tyler to cheat on her, but failed because the lie he tried to tell blew up in his face. The time frame of his story happened while Tyler and Hayli were on vacation with Tyler's family.
"Babe," Tyler said, "Tyler's at the airport, he came to visit."
Hayli felt her face fall, once again Tyler Brown ruined her alone time with Tyler.
"Can't we send him back?"
Tyler laughed, "He's my best friend besides Brad, I can't do that. Can you just try to get along with him for me? I already told him to leave you alone. Just please?"
Hayli nodded her head and Tyler stood up from the bench throwing their trash in a nearby can, before grabbing her hand. They walked back to the car in silence but both of them knew that Tyler's visit was going to be hell.
They pulled up in front of the airport and Hayli's eyes went wide when she noticed the brunette standing next to her boyfriend's best friend.
"Is this a fucking sick joke," she asked as Tyler looked up and saw Katherine, his ex-girlfriend standing with Tyler.
"What the fuck is she doing here," he asked.
"She's not staying at the house, no way. Tyler staying is one thing but her, I'm not having it!"
Tyler agreed that Tyler bringing Katherine was bullshit and that he'd talk to him.
"I mean it Tyler, the answer is no. That ho ain't staying in our house."
"Will you calm down?"
"I will not fucking calm down! Are you serious?"
"Try to be nice," Tyler said. "Act like she doesn't exist."
"Easier said than done when she's all, 'OH MY GOD TYLER,'" Hayli squealed mockingly. "How have you been? Let me suck your dick!"
Tyler laughed leaning over the console to give Hayli a kiss, "Behave, please? That's all I'm asking. I love you not her...remember that."
Hayli watched from the passenger seat as Tyler got out of the car and headed towards his friend. Katherine stared at her the whole time while Hayli suppressed the urge to flip her off.
Katherine and Tyler walked over to the car and Hayli took a deep breath as she heard the car doors open.
"Hi Tyler," she said pretending to be nice.
"Don't pretend to be nice," he said as he sat behind her. Hayli saw Tyler grip the steering wheel and she put her hand on his arm, "Let it go," she mouthed.
"Tyler, please," Tyler said. "I told you to leave her alone."
"Still can't fight your own battles, can you slut," Katherine said.
"Kate, shut the fuck up," Tyler said, "You're not welcomed here and you know it."
"I thought I'd bring her down for a visit since she's never been here."
Tyler glared at his best friend and his ex-girlfriend as they sped away from the airport. The whole way home Katherine made smart remarks to Hayli. Hayli needed to get away fast and she turned to the one person she knew could be that escape: Patrice.
She snuck off to her and Tyler's bedroom when she got home and packed an overnight bad.
"Where are you going," Tyler asked as he came into the room.
"I'm going to Lindsay's for the weekend. Call me when they leave," she said grabbing her bag.
"You don't have to go," Tyler said pulling her into his arms, "Just ignore them."
"That's my problem, you can ignore people and I can't. I can't be with them," she said. "I love you."
"I love you too," Tyler said giving her a kiss. "Dinner tomorrow just the two of us."
"I'd like that," Hayli said as she walked out of the room, "I'll call you before I go to bed."
Tyler sighed in defeat before following Hayli down the hall to the elevator, "I can't sleep without you," he smiled wrapping his arms around her from behind.
Hayli smiled, "You'll live."
The elevator dinged and the doors opened, "Bye baby."
Tyler pouted before kissing Hayli quickly, "We could have a quickie in there you know?"
"Dream on," Hayli giggled as the doors closed on Tyler's million dollar smile.
Hayli sighed as she entered the lobby of their apartment building and headed towards where her car was parked in the parking lot across the street. Hayli dialed Patrice’s number and when she didn’t get an answer she prayed that Stephanie wasn’t home. As she drove through the suburban Boston neighborhood she was still upset about Tyler bringing Katherine on his visit.
She looked around and saw that Patrice’s car was the only one in the driveway. Taking a deep breath, she sent him a text message letting him know that she was outside.
Are you up for company?
Hayli sat in the car for a couple of minutes before her phone went off.
Where are you?
I’m outside
Come around the back. Stephanie’s not home this weekend she’s visiting her aunt in Quebec.
Hayli drove around the back of the house and parked on a side street. Patrice was waiting in the back door when she got there.
“Hey,” he smiled kissing her cheek. “Are you okay?”
“Brown came to visit,” she said.
“I got a feeling that’s not all of it,” he replied as they entered the house.
“He brought Katherine with him.”
“Katherine as in Segs’ ex?”
“The one and only.”
“What the fuck is he trying to prove,” Patrice asked. “What did Tyler do?”
“He told Tyler off for bringing her but then he told her off. I can’t be in that house with them. Can I stay here this weekend?”
“Stephanie’s coming home on Sunday night but you can stay here if you want.”
Hayli smiled, “I’m sorry for not talking to you the past couple of weeks.”
Patrice smiled, “Don’t worry about it.”
“Are you hungry,” Hayli asked.
“Pizza or Chinese?”
“Want me to cook for you?”
“You cook,” Patrice asked.
“A little bit.”
“Help yourself to what you need, I’ll replace it all,” he said smiling as he rounded the counter and gave Hayli a kiss on the lips. “It’s good to have you here.”
Hayli smiled and Patrice watched her as she moved around the kitchen cooking them dinner. After dinner was over they were sitting in the living room watching a movie. Hayli fell asleep with her head on Patrice’s shoulder. It was then that Patrice realized that not only was he physically cheating on his wife but he was now emotionally attached to her.
“Je t’aime,” he whispered as wrapped his arms around Hayli’s sleeping body in the bed that he shared with his wife.

Chapter VI-Set fire to the Rain
Hayli groaned as she grabbed the phone off of the nightstand in her and Tyler's hotel room. Jamie and Hayli were in New York City on a small vacation and stayed a day later to see the Bruins play the Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
Hayli carefully got out of bed, so she didn't wake up Tyler and went into the bathroom to check her phone.
One voicemail, one text message, and one missed call. They were all from Patrice, sighing, Hayli pressed play to listen to the voicemail.
"Hayli, it's me. The guys went out, can you come see me? I haven't seen you and I know you're here. I'm in room 1950. I have the door unlocked in case you do decide to come down. Bye!"
Hayli sighed as she replied to the text message asking her if she was awake.
Brushing her hair and teeth quickly, Hayli brushed lip gloss on her lips and slid Tyler’s hoodie over her head before replacing it with one from Victoria’s Secret. Spraying a quick mist of body spray on herself, Hayli grabbed her wristlet and walked out of the room. Tyler had snuggled against the pillow thinking it was Hayli and was still sound asleep. Hayli went to the elevator and pressed the button to go down. Her and Jamie’s room was on the 15th floor and Tyler agreed to stay with Hayli while Jamie had the room downstairs for her and Brad.
Hayli sighed as she got on and saw Jamie pressed against the wall with Brad sucking her neck. Hayli tried to go unnoticed but Jamie pushed Brad away from her and fixed her skirt, “Hey Hayli, where are you going so late?”
Hayli smiled slightly at her best friend, “I’m heading to the gift shop to see if they have any condoms. I forgot to pack them for me and Tyler.”
“I have some,” Brad said, “But I’m not giving them to you because I plan on using the whole box tonight.”
Hayli pretended to gag as Brad pressed Jamie against the wall and resumed his attack on her neck, "Tyler needs magnums, not centimeter peter brand. I bet you use those finger rubbers on yours."
Jamie laughed as Brad replied, "Fuck you," to Hayli before the elevator doors opened to the lobby, "We're going to walk around Times Square for a little while, see you later."
Hayli walked in the direction of the gift shop before getting on a different elevator to go back up. Hayli opened the door and saw Patrice sprawled out on the bed watching Rocky.
"Bonjour, belle," he greeted turning off the TV before walking over to where she was standing.
"I was sleeping when you called or I would have been here sooner."
Patrice smiled as he wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her neck, "You're here now, right?"
Hayli stood on her tip toes to kiss him, "Mhm," she mumbled as Patrice's calloused fingers unzipped the hoodie she was wearing.
Patrice groaned seeing no bra underneath and he slowly slid it from her shoulders, "Vous êtes sexy," he whispered as he kissed his way down Hayli's neck to her breasts.
Hayli reached for his sweatpants and had them halfway down his ankles, when there was a knock at the door.
"BERGIE, OPEN UP," Milan Lucic's voice said on the other side.
"What he said," Nathan Horton repeated causing Hayli to panic.
"Shit," Hayli said grabbing the hoodie off the floor. She quickly zipped it before looking at Patrice who was pulling his pants back up.
"There's a door connecting their room to mine, go in there and I'll distract them.
Hayli quickly went into the conjoining room and hit under the bed. Turning her phone on vibrate, she tried to be as quiet as she could.
Milan Lucic's loud voice was suddenly closer and he sat down on the bed she was under. Nathan Horton was ranting about Tammy to Patrice when Milan decided to break his silence.
"I wish more women were like Segs' chick," Milan began, "She isn't clingy, she has a great set of tits, and from what I saw on his phone and from what Segs tells me, she gives good head."
"If I could fuck anyone else's woman on the team, it'd be her."
"I'd motorboat the shit out of her tits," Milan said, "She's a fucking fox."
Hayli saw Patrice's feet shift uncomfortably before he finally broke his silence, "Segs would kill you if he heard you talking about her like that. Besides, if Brittany and Tammy heard you talking about someone else's girlfriend like that, they'd kill you. I'm also sure you'd kill the guys if we talked about them like that."
Hayli smiled at Patrice defending her, "Damn Bergie, we were just saying but you cannot tell me you wouldn't screw her," Looch said again.
"I need a drink," Patrice said, "Meet me at the hotel bar in 15 minutes."
"Sounds good, I need a drink," Milan said standing up letting Hayli breathe again. Hayli's alarm on her phone went off and she quickly silenced it.
"What was that," Nathan Horton asked.
"Sounded like it came from under the bed."
Patrice quickly bent down and Hayli smiled at him before handing him her phone, "That's where it flew," Patrice said holding the black iPhone in his hand, "I knew it went somewhere, I was just too lazy to look for it. Thank God the alarm went off."
Milan and Nathan laughed before shuffling out of the room telling Patrice they'd see him later.
Patrice reached down and grabbed Hayli's hands pulling her out from under the bed, "Are you okay," he asked as she gasped for air and he handed her a bottle of water from the desk behind him.
"I'm fine," she said being careful not to let her voice fail her. She wanted to kill Tyler for showing Milan that video, "Nice cover up with the phone."
Patrice smiled before kissing her lightly, "I'll call you," he said, "Get some sleep."
Hayli smiled hugging him, "Goodnight."
"Bonsoir mon ange, sweet dreams," Patrice said as Hayli left the room.
Hayli went back to her and Tyler's room ready to kill him in his sleep. He made her locker room talk and she felt like a whore knowing Lucic had seen the video her dad had found a couple of months prior.
Hayli changed back into what she was wearing and slept in the other bed leaving Tyler by himself. The next morning, Hayli woke up to find Tyler sitting at the table eating breakfast.
"Good morning," he smiled brightly taking a drink of his orange juice.
"Fuck you," Hayli snapped walking into the bathroom, slamming the door behind her.
Tyler laughed figuring it was because she was not a morning person; but when he got in the shower with her and she shoved him away from her, he knew something was wrong.
Tyler finished showering wondering what he could have done to make her mad at him. He didn't go out with the guys last night, he stayed in and spent time with her so it couldn't be that. They had spent the night talking about the vacation they went on with Tyler's family when they started dating. They shared a hotel room and fooled around for the first time.
Tyler smiled at the memory, he realized he loved her that night. He still loved her, she kept him from letting the fame get to his head and she stood by him all of these years. Tyler sighed as he wrapped the towel around his waist and went back into the bedroom.
"Hayli, what's wrong," he asked sitting down on the bed next to her, "Please tell me."
How did Hayli even lay her way out of this one? Hayli sighed before looking at Tyler whose eyes were pleading with her. He looked broken and Hayli was screaming at herself for making him like this.
"I woke up in the middle of the night and I was thirsty, so I went downstairs to get something to drink. I was walking by Looch and Horty's room and I heard them talking about whose girlfriend they would screw. Apparently I'm the girlfriend they'd fuck because I give good head from what you showed and told them. Oh! ...and I have a nice set of tits that Milan wants to motorboat the shit out of."
Tyler's jaw clenched and he felt his fist bawl up, "I trusted you with that video, Ty. Once again, you let me down. You turned me into cheap locker room gossip."
"I was a rookie and I wanted to fit in," Tyler began, "I'm sorry that I let you down. I never should have showed Looch that video. I love you so much, Hayli."
"Sometimes, you have a funny way of showing it," she said standing up from the bed, "I'll meet you downstairs."
Tyler ran his hands through his hair as the door slammed behind her. It was going to be a long drive back to Boston. Tyler had lied and said he was staying an extra day in New York so he could drive home with Hayli.
Tyler dressed slowly, not wanting to face the reality that his relationship with Hayli was at risk after what she had heard Milan and Nathan talking about. Grabbing his bag and his keys, Tyler headed downstairs to the lobby.
"Where's the car," Tyler asked Hayli as she talked to Jamie.
"Down in the garage, it'll be the only Range Rover down there."
"Thank you, Captain Obvious," he snapped back causing Jamie to raise her eyebrow questioningly.
"What happened," Jamie asked, "You two were fine last night."
"I don't want to talk about it."
Tyler pulled up in front of the hotel and Brad was the first one to see him.
"Yo Segs," he shouted and Tyler walked over to him, "Did you use those condoms last night?"
"I didn't use shit last night," Tyler replied completely oblivious to the two versions of Hayli's story, "We fought."
"You kinky son of a bitch," Brad said, "I knew you two were freaky but I didn't realize you two were that freaky."
"You should mind your own business," Hayli said getting in the car.
"You're a kinky whore," Brad said, "You should mind your vagina."
"Patrice and Looch are driving back with us," Tyler said as the two of them got in the back seat.
"Hello Suzy Sunshine," Milan said leaning over the seat, "How are you this morning?"
"Fuck off," Hayli spat pushing him away from her.
"Don't touch her," Tyler said.
Lucic threw his hands up in surrender, "I was only kidding."
"Were you kidding last night when you said you'd motorboat the shit out of my boobs," Hayli snapped causing Patrice's eyes to go wide and Milan to blush.
"How the fuck did you know about that?"
"She went to the vending machine on your floor and heard it walking by your room. You have a mouth bigger than Brad's," Tyler replied, "I don't talk about Brittany that way, don't talk about Hayli like that."
Hayli was shocked at Tyler defending her and pulled the sunglasses down onto her eyes. They had been driving for almost two hours when Hayli's phone rang.
"Hello," she said turning down the radio, “Hi daddy.”
Tyler looked at her questioningly before turning his eyes back to the road.
“What is this charge for an Agent Provocateur boutique,” Tom Samuels asked his daughter, “It’s $510.”
“Dad, I was going to pay that off when I got home from New York with Jamie.”
“I Googled that store, please tell me why you were buying lingerie.”
“I can’t talk about this right now.”
“Let me guess, he doesn’t know and it’s a surprise. He’s turned you into a whore.”
“Dad, just fuck off okay,” Hayli snapped, “You’ll have your fucking money on Monday.”
Hayli threw her phone in the cup holder and sighed before turning her face to look out of the window. Tyler took his hand off of the steering wheel and went to grab her hand. Hayli pulled out of his grasp, “Leave me alone, Ty. Not now!”
Patrice pulled his phone out of his pocket to text Hayli.
Are you okay?
I’m fine, okay. Mind your own business
Patrice wanted to scream at her but he couldn’t. They were 30 miles from a rest stop and Hayli needed to get out of the car fast. Hayli picked up her phone and texted one of her friends in Brampton that always had the right advice. Patrice had drifted off to sleep, leaving Hayli and Tyler by themselves.
“So, you’ll text your nerdy friends back in Brampton but you won’t talk to me,” Tyler said, “Is that really how this is going to work.”
“You’re an asshole,” Hayli replied, “Just get us home so I don’t have to deal with you. They have nothing to do with this, leave them out of it.”
“They hate me because you lucked out and got me.”
“What the hell is that supposed to mean,” Hayli asked, “Are you saying I’m not good enough for you?”
Tyler didn’t say anything and Hayli fought back the urge to make him drive the car off a cliff. Patrice was awakened by them arguing and he heard the last thing that Tyler said. Patrice wanted to reach over the seat and strangle him for making Hayli feel like a piece of shit. They pulled into a rest stop and Patrice shook Milan awake before they got out of the car. Tyler was the first to climb out of the driver’s seat and Hayli packed her purse.
Patrice watched as Hayli got out of the car and began walking towards the direction of the rest stop when Tyler grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his chest.
“Asshole,” Patrice muttered.
“Let me out, I gotta piss,” Milan said nudging Patrice’s seat. Milan was sitting in the back in the extra seat and he had to go to the bathroom. Patrice got out of the car and let Milan out.
“Are we okay,” Tyler asked as Hayli stood with her back against the car.
“No,” Hayli replied, “We’re not.”
“I didn’t mean what I said about you not being good enough. You’re perfect for me, I’m sorry that I said something like that. I’m sorry that I told Looch too about everything that we do. You mean everything to me, Hayli. I don’t know what it is going to take for us to stop fighting but I want this to end. This isn’t us, we hardly ever fought. I know I haven’t exactly been the perfect boyfriend but I love you more than anything.”
Milan had returned and sat in the seat next to Patrice. They would back in Boston in two hours. Patrice and Milan fell into conversation about their upcoming games against Washington and Buffalo.
“I got you a slice of pizza and a frappucino from Starbucks,” Tyler said walking next to Hayli.
“Thanks,” she said coldly before grabbing the door handle. Tyler placed the box and the cup on the roof of the car before turning Hayli around in his arms. He lifted her and she wrapped her legs instinctively around his waist. Tyler rested his hand down the back of her jeans and pressed his forehead against hers.
“I love you,” he said, “I didn’t mean anything that I said. You’re perfect, Hayli.”
“I’m just tired of you always putting me down lately and I’m tired of us fighting,” Hayli admitted, “I have nothing without you, Tyler.”
“Don’t give up on us,” he whispered kissing her, “Please?”
“I won’t,” she whispered, “I promise.”
Tyler gripped her butt in his hands and pressed her against the car kissing her. Milan was listening to Patrice talk about the 1-3-1 the Lightning play when he saw Hayli’s jeans fall slightly from Tyler having her pressed against the car.
“Lower, lower, lower,” he chanted pushing his sunglasses down to catch a better view, causing Patrice to turn around and want to kill Tyler.
“Wow,” Patrice whispered.
“She’s fucking hot, not only does she have great tits, look at that ass.”
“Shut the fuck up, Milan,” Patrice snapped putting down the window, “Are you two done dryhumping each other yet? I do need to get home to my wife sometime today.”
Tyler laughed as Hayli pulled her jeans up and grabbed the food off the roof of the car. Hayli turned the radio on and they were back on the road to Boston. Hayli almost choked on her slice of pizza when the all too familiar piano intro to “Unfaithful” by Rihanna began playing. Hayli went to turn the station and Tyler stopped her, “I like this song,” he said and Patrice almost laughed sarcastically.
Hayli’s cell phone rang again, “Jesus Christ,” she screamed digging through her purse, “WHAT,” she snapped but quickly felt guilty, “Hi grandma.”
Tyler laughed as Hayli talked to Dottie Samuels, the woman that they were both close to, “Yeah I know, dad called me earlier and yelled at me.”
“Does that cute boyfriend of yours know about it?”
“No, grandma,” Hayli replied.
“I used to surprise your grandfather all of the time.”
“OKAY GRANDMA,” Hayli said laughing, “I got the picture.”
Dottie Samuels laughed lightly, “How was New York?”
“It was fun, we had a great time.”
“Is that adorable French teammate of your boyfriend with you?”
“Yeah, Patrice is here.”
Patrice let curiosity get the best of him and he looked at Hayli who laughed, “Hold on, I’ll put him on. Here my grandma wants to talk to you.”
Tyler laughed as he looked behind him and saw Patrice blush. Dottie was laying on the charm strong and Tyler grabbed Hayli’s hand. Patrice handed Hayli back her phone and she said goodbye to her grandmother.
Patrice sent Hayli another text message and he saw her clench the phone tightly in her hand before pounding back a reply.
I don’t understand how you can forgive him so easily
Like I said, mind your own business
Why are you being so shitty to me? Excuse me for caring.
You can tell me what to do when you’re my boyfriend but you’re not and you never will be.[/b[
Patrice sighed.
If that’s the way you want it, then that’s the way it’s going to be.
Chapter V-Where my Heart Is
“Hayli,” Tyler said entering their bedroom in Boston, “Are you ready? I have to get to the arena soon.”
“I’ll be out in a minute, let me finish my hair.”
Tyler shook his head before fixing his tie in the mirror of their bedroom while Hayli used the bathroom. Tyler walked into the bathroom and smiled as Hayli sprayed one last piece of hair in place before tugging his jersey over her head carefully.
“I’m ready,” she smiled as Tyler stepped forward to give her a kiss.
“I can’t wait to go home to Brampton for a couple of days. We need to go back after all the silly fights we’ve getting into.”
“I love you, Tyler,” Hayli said wrapping her arms around his waist burying her face in his chest.
“I love you too,” he whispered into her hair, kissing her head, “You’re everything to me, remember that.”
“I know,” she smiled pulling away, “You mean everything and more to me.”
“We really need to head out before traffic gets worse. God forbid I be late.”
After the game was over, Hayli met Tyler in the locker room where she had left her stuff locked up in Tyler’s locker under the seat of his stall. Patrice sat in the corner of the locker room watching the young couple joke around with Brad before wishing everyone a “Merry Christmas” as they left the arena hand in hand.
Hayli gave Patrice a small smile as she walked out of the room and Patrice mustered up a smile but on the inside, he was jealous of the younger man.
Hayli and Tyler sat on the plane talking about their family’s plans for the two days that they were going to be home. Hayli’s parents were hosting Christmas Eve and Tyler’s family was hosting Christmas. It had been a while since the two families were together for the holiday.
Tyler watched a movie on the plane from his laptop while Hayli slept. She looked uncomfortable curled up into a ball against the window of the plane. Tyler lifted the arm rest and pulled her closer to him, Hayli mumbled incoherently as her head fell onto Tyler’s chest. He kissed her forehead gently and exited out of the movie on his laptop.
Tyler inhaled a deep breath as he Googled jewelry stores in Boston, writing the numbers down on a napkin before shoving it in his pocket. Tyler grabbed Hayli’s left hand and smiled at the ruby heart ring that he had given her for Valentine’s Day the year before he was drafted. He knew what the future would bring them in two years and he wanted to make sure she knew he was in the relationship for the long haul. Lately all Tyler had been thinking about was his and Hayli’s future. Their fighting had worried him, they hadn’t argued that much anytime in their relationship and it made Tyler wonder what the future held for them.
They landed in Brampton shortly after one in the morning. Tyler’s dad was there to pick them up and take them back to their childhood homes, “Are you sleeping at my house tonight or yours,” Tyler asked as they pulled into his driveway.
“I’ll stay with you,” Hayli whispered as Tyler took her hand and lead her into the house.
“It’s good to have you guys home,” Paul Seguin said as he walked Tyler's room, "Get some sleep, everyone's coming over tomorrow. Goodnight."
"Goodnight dad," Tyler said giving his dad a hug before he left the room, "Are you tired?"
"No, not yet. Why," Hayli replied.
"My muscles are sore from the game and being crammed on the plane. I could use some time in the hot tub, want to join me?"
"Sure," Hayli smiled, "Why not?"
Tyler smiled before stripping down to his boxers, "I'll meet you downstairs."
Hayli smiled as Tyler walked by her, giving her a kiss on his way out. Hayli kneeled down on the floor in front of her suitcase to find the bikini that she had packed just for spontaneous trips to Tyler's family's hot tub when she found a Victoria's Secret bag with her name on it. Hayli looked behind her to make sure Tyler was out of sight before she opened it.
Hayli gasped as she pulled out the Swarovski crystal encrusted Victoria's Secret bra and panties set that she wanted to buy but had held off on. She held off because 1) She couldn't afford it with her paycheck from working on campus and didn't want to ask Tyler for it and 2) $300 for a lingerie set was ridiculous.
Hayli grabbed her phone as she walked into the bathroom that Tyler had to himself in his room. Hayli was changing her clothes while texting the one person she knew could have sent the gift.
Hey
Hi baby
you didn't have to get me that gift
you deserved it, babe. I better be the only one that sees you in it.
I have to go but I'll text you tomorrow
make sure you send me a picture of you in that lingerie. I need something to keep me going
Hayli quickly deleted the text messages from her phone and went back out to the bedroom. Tyler was smirking at her holding the rhinestone lingerie and Hayli silently cursed herself for leaving it out.
"You are totally wearing this when we get more free time together," he smirked stepping closer to her, "You finally got it, eh?"
"It only took 4 paychecks," Hayli lied.
"I wanted to get it for you so bad but I knew you'd be pissed if I did. Hayli, I want to provide for you if you'd let me."
"I don't like you spending money on me, Tyler. I like doing things for myself."
"I know you do but as long as you're with me, you'll never want for anything."
Hayli leaned forward and wrapped her arms around his waist, "What did I do to deserve you?"
"I ask myself the same thing," he smiled giving her a kiss, "Now let's go before the water gets cold."
Hayli took his hand as they walked downstairs towards the deck where the hot tub was located. Tyler slowly descended into the water and took Hayli's hand guiding her in.
Tyler smiled as Hayli leaned against him and the jets massaged his muscles. Tyler kissed Hayli's shoulder as she rested her head on his chest.
"It feels good to be back here like this," Tyler whispered as his grip tightened on Hayli's waist.
"I miss when it was just the two of us. Now it's you, me, the NHL, and the world."
Tyler kissed Hayli's neck once again, "I can never thank you enough for standing by me. You always were the only person besides my family who did that. I love you."
Hayli turned so that she was facing him. Tyler's arms were now leaning on both sides of the hot tub, "Make love to me, Tyler," she whispered claiming his lips with her own hungrily.
Tyler wrapped his arms around her, pulling her closer to him. Hayli gasped as Tyler's lips met the sensitive spot on her neck that he knew like the back of his hand. Hayli shrieked as Tyler bit down on the spot earning a chuckle out of him.
"Not here," he whispered as Hayli reached down to run her hand over his shorts.
Hayli nodded her head as Tyler stood up and wrapped a towel around the two of them. Tyler closed the door to where the hot tub was and Hayli sat down on the pull out couch that was downstairs in Tyler's trophy room.
Hayli smiled at the picture of him helping her hold up the Stanley Cup as Tyler leaned down to kiss her, "I love you so much," he whispered as he hovered over her.
Hayli wanted to cry when she thought about her affair with Patrice. Tyler would lay his life on the line for her but all she did in return was sleep with another man. Hayli didn't realize a tear had slipped out of her eye, until she felt Tyler wipe it away with his thumb as he kissed her.
"What's wrong," he asked rubbing her side gently.
"I just got overwhelmed being back here, that's all.”
Tyler smiled before kissing her again and lifting the blanket over their heads before kissing her neck.
Hayli clawed at his back as he freed her breasts from the bikini and immediately used his tongue to enjoy her chest, “I want you so bad,” she whispered in his ear.
Tyler peeled the bikini away from her body and slid his shorts over his thighs before crawling back up towards her.
"I love you," he whispered against her lips as he entered her slowly.
It was a different pace for both of them. Hayli was used to hard and fast with Tyler but right now as he took his time with her, she wanted to stay like this forever.
The next morning, Tyler and Hayli woke up and decided to go ice skating at an outdoor rink in Toronto.
Tyler and Hayli skated around holding hands and taking in the sights before them of the world famous skyline, "Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if i played here," Tyler said, "I probably would have been drafted here if Boston wouldn't have traded Kessel."
"You'd be on a team who sucked then," Hayli joked, "You are a Stanley Cup champion, Ty."
"I'd probably be stuck on the Marlies."
"You will never be AHL material."
Tyler smirked, "I'm too good for the AHL."
"Cockiness isn't attractive, Mr. Seguin."
"You didn't have a problem with it last night," he replied smiling like the cat that swallowed the canary.
Hayli punched him in the arm causing him to laugh as she skated away quickly. Tyler chased her around the rink and he tackled her playfully to the ice. He moved the hair away from her face and kissed her, "I love you," he whispered as Hayli smiled.
"I love you too," Hayli smiled as Tyler sat up and pulled her to her feet.
"Let's get home and see your family."
They drove back home to Brampton where Hayli would see her family for the first time. They didn’t know that she and Tyler were home yet. Tyler wasn’t Janine and Tim Samuels’ favorite person in the world. He took Hayli with him to Boston and her parents both thought they were too young to live together but Hayli went against their wishes.
Tyler pulled into the driveway of his house, both he and Hayli walked across the lawn and up the three small steps to the front door. Hayli used her key to get in and she immediately saw her family in the living room.
“HAYLI,” Jamie, her younger brother said as he ran over to her, hugging both her and Tyler.
“Hey buddy,” Tyler said kneeling down to Jamie’s level, “You got so big since the summer.”
“I’m seven now,” Jamie said proudly causing Tyler to laugh.
“I know, remember I bought you an xBox?”
Jamie smiled as Hayli picked him up, “You’re too heavy now,” she said as her brother kissed her cheek.
“What did Santa bring you,” Tyler asked as he sat down on the couch with Jamie.
Hayli smiled as she walked into the kitchen and saw her mom and Tyler’s mom, Jackie cooking.
“Hayli, you look beautiful,” Janine Samuels beamed as she walked around the counter to hug her daughter, “It’s so good to have you home.”
Jackie Seguin smiled before hugging her son’s girlfriend, “Where’s Tyler?”
“In the living room playing xBox with Jamie, where’s dad?”
“He went with Paul and Cassidy to pick Candace and Lacy up from some Christmas party at one of their friend’s houses; they should be back any minute.”
Lacy was Hayli’s 15 year old sister who was friends with Candace. Hayli began helping her mom as Tyler kept Jamie occupied in the living room with the xBox. Hayli, Jackie, and her mom finished cooking dinner when her dad came home with Tyler’s dad and sisters.
“Hayli,” Lacy said hugging her sister, “I miss you.”
“I miss you too,” she smiled before hugging Candace and Cassidy. Hayli hugged her dad and he kissed her forehead.
“We miss you around here,” he said, “How’s Boston treating you?”
“Boston’s treating me really well; I made the Dean’s List this semester.”
“That’s great,” everyone said in unison as Tyler entered the kitchen.
“Tyler,” Cassidy shrieked when she saw her brother.
“Hey Cass,” he said hugging her, “Still staying away from boys?”
“Yes,” she smiled and Tyler raised an eyebrow at her.
Candace whispered in his ear and Tyler laughed, “Who’s Billy Thomas,” he asked as he saw Cassidy blush and glare at Candace who was laughing.
“CANDACE,” she whined causing everyone to laugh.
“Dinner’s ready,” Janine said, “Let’s eat.”
Everyone sat around the dining room table eating and laughing. It was just like old times when Hayli and Tyler were kids and their families would get together. After dinner, Hayli’s family and Tyler’s family went to the living room to watch “Christmas Vacation.” Hayli was curled up next to Tyler on the couch with her head on his chest. Hayli fell asleep and Tyler carried her to her room when the movie was over.
“Merry Christmas, baby,” he whispered pulling the blanket over her before heading out of the house to his room.
The next morning, Hayli woke up to Tyler kissing her neck.
“Even after all of these years, you still have that key to the lock,” she said as Tyler smiled.
“We need our own house here,” he said, “We’ll start looking this summer.”
Hayli smiled as she sat up and wiped the sleep out of her eyes, “Where is everybody?”
“My mom and your mom are at my house cooking. Lacy and Candace are doing each other’s hair or some shit like that, Jamie is with our dads in my living room watching the Disney parade. Which means, we’re all alone,” he smirked as he crawled on top of Hayli.
Tim Samuels decided to spy on his daughter’s boyfriend when he used the restroom in the Seguin’s house. He snooped through Tyler’s suitcase where he found condoms in the front zipper. He knew his daughter was sexually active and there was nothing he could do but he wanted to nail Tyler with something that would cause his daughter to break up with him. Tyler had left his Blackberry sitting on his dresser; Tim Samuels scrolled through the phone and found pictures of Hayli and Tyler together at Celtics games and in the family lounge of TD Banknorth Garden after games.
Tim Samuels wasn’t prepared for the naked pictures of his daughter in Tyler’s phone. Ready to kill Tyler, Tim came across a video on Tyler’s phone of Hayli giving Tyler a blowjob. Storming across the lawn to his daughter’s bedroom, he knocked on the door before Tyler opened it.
“You little son of a bitch,” he spat grabbing Tyler by the shirt, “What the fuck is wrong with you?”
“What are you talking about,” Tyler asked as Hayli tried to pull her dad off of Tyler.
“Get that fucking video off of your phone right now.”
“Tyler, what is he talking about?”
“What video?”
Tyler’s face went pale as her dad pressed play on his Blackberry shoving it into Tyler’s hands, “You turned her into a whore.”
“How dare you,” Hayli said, “I am not a whore.”
“Then how the fuck do you explain the video of you giving him a blowjob.”
“He wanted something to keep on the road, he got rid of it or so I thought he did.”
“Get out of my house,” Tim Samuels barked to Tyler who looked defeated.
“He goes, I go,” Hayli said walking around her dad and across the lawn to Tyler’s room.
“I don’t know how he found it,” Tyler said as he packed his suitcase. He and Hayli were now alone in his room packing to go back to Boston after dinner instead of the morning after.
“I thought you deleted it.”
“I did,” Tyler replied, “He must have found it on the memory card, “Fuck, he did.”
Hayli smiled slightly before walking out of Tyler’s room and back to hers to grab the stuff that she had left. Hayli’s family never showed up for dinner that night at the Seguin household. Hayli opened her presents from them and Tyler’s family after dinner. Tyler and Hayli said goodbye to his family and got back on the first plane they could get to Boston.
“He fucking had a video of her giving him a blowjob,” Tim Samuels said to his wife as she finished heating the leftovers from the night before, “That little son of a bitch.”
“They’ve been together for almost 5 years, Tim. I’m sure they have done a lot of stuff we don’t know about it, trust me I’m not thrilled either but you didn’t have to chase them back to Boston. We don’t ever get to see her and you did this.”
“That’s it, stick up for them.”
“I’m not sticking up for anyone, you overreacted. Yes the video is wrong but Tim, they’re both adults who have been in a committed relationship for 4 years and who have lasted longer than a Kardashian marriage.”
“He ruined my little girl,” Tim said, “I give them six months and they’ll be broken up because that little shit cheated on her.”
Janine Samuels rolled her eyes as Tim drank his beer. Meanwhile, Tyler and Hayli were on the plane upset that their nice trip they had planned back home didn’t go according to plans. Hayli leaned her head against the window and wiped the tears out of her eyes. Tyler fell asleep and Hayli pulled out her phone to text Patrice.
On my way back to Boston, there was a free for all with something my dad found on Tyler’s phone. I need to see you.
Hayli turned the phone off and stuck it back into her carryon bag. Hayli fell asleep not sure what the future held for her. It was going to get ugly and she knew it but right now her heart was with Tyler and despite everything with Patrice, Tyler would always be number one.

Chapter IV-You Drive Me Crazy
“Please can you go pick Hayli up at school,” Tyler asked Brad as they left the arena, “I have to go to visit the children’s hospital for Christmas with the guys and Hayli is done in an hour. Can you please help me out?”
“Why can’t she just take a bus or walk home?”
“Newsflash, I’m Tyler Seguin, she’s my girlfriend who could be kidnapped by some thug to get money from me.”
“If they kidnapped her, they’d give her back for free once they heard her open her damn mouth.”
“Shut the fuck up,” Tyler spat as he pulled out his cell phone to call Hayli, “Just pick her up for me, please? I picked Jamie up from work last week when her car broke down, you owe me.”
“FINE,” Brad replied suddenly feeling guilty, “I’ll go pick up the skank.”
“Please be nice to her.”
“When am I not nice to her?”
Tyler rolled his eyes, “Asshole,” he mumbled before walking down the hall of TD Banknorth Garden.
“The bitch can always walk home,” Brad called out down the hall earning a middle finger and a string of curses from the younger hockey player.
Hayli sighed as she looked at her watch just fifteen minutes and she’d be home with Tyler for a couple of days. Tyler would be home for three days before returning to the road. Hayli was looking forward to it just being the two of them for a change.
Sighing as her professor wished them all a good Christmas break. Hayli stayed behind so that she could talk to him about her upcoming internship with a public relations firm. Hayli was more excited about going home to Brampton for Christmas than she was about spending a couple of days with Tyler. Tyler and Hayli were flying out after the game in Boston on the 23rd to be in Brampton early Christmas morning.
Brad sat in the parking lot of the Boston University Nutrition and Fitness Center waiting for Hayli. Brad was eyed up several times by the college girls that walked by. Brad flirted with a smirk or a wink but nothing too big. Jamie would have his balls on a silver platter if he ever cheated on her.
5 minutes whore or I'm leaving
I'm waiting for the elevator now, hose nose
I'll make you walk home
Tyler will kill you
It'd be worth it
Fuck you
No thank you
Your nose is bigger than your dick
Jamie has never complained
Not to your face anyways
I'm leaving, goodbye bitch
I swear to God if you leave me, I will make your life a living hell
I am the Devil, sweet cheeks
Your horns are your nose
Have fun walking the freeway home
I'm here, where are you?
Brad didn't respond and Hayli groaned as she got his voicemail once again, "Brad, you big nosed fuck, I swear to God if you don't get your fat ass back here I will murder you."
Hayli shoved her phone in the pocket of her jeans hoodie before wrapping her Victoria’s Secret hoodie tighter around her. Winter was in full swing in Boston and Hayli didn't bother with a coat in the morning, because Tyler dropped her off and was supposed to pick her up.
She tried dialing Tyler's number but it went right to voicemail. Hayli walked into the Barnes and Noble that was close by to get a cup of coffee in the cafe. Hayli found a table in the corner and sat down, pulling the book out of her bag that she had began earlier that day, she didn't pay attention to anyone or anything.
Patrice decided to stop at the Barnes and Noble on his way home from an autograph signing downtown to get something to drink. It was the only place close that was open while rush hour traffic consumed Boston.
Patrice paid for his coffee and was ready to leave, when he spotted Hayli walking down the sidewalk towards the subway station.
"Hayli," he called out from the black Mercedes G-class.
Patrice knew she didn't hear him with the headphones in her ears. Patrice put the car in park and shrugged out of his jacket. He got close to Hayli and wrapped the jacket around her shoulders. Patrice laughed as Hayli grabbed the mace that was in her pocket and aimed it towards him.
"Relax, babe," he whispered, "It's only me."
"You scared me," she whispered as Patrice wrapped his arm around her shoulders and lead her to the car.
Patrice opened the door for her and Hayli climbed in appreciatively, “What the hell were you doing walking in the dark by yourself?”
“Tyler sent Brad to pick me up from school and he left me when I took too long walking to the car.”
“That little rat faced bastard,” Patrice said, “I’ll kill him.”
Hayli laughed as she held her hands over the heating vents. She shrugged out of Patrice’s jacket and draped it over herself like a blanket before shrinking back into the seat, “Thank you so much.”
Patrice lifted his arm and gestured for her to move close to him since the car didn’t have a center console, “Thank you,” she said cuddling into his chest. Patrice kissed her forehead gently and held her close as he drove up the large hill.
“Where are we going?”
“Do you trust me,” Patrice asked.
Hayli nodded her head and Patrice continued the drive up Summit Avenue between Brookline and Brighton. Hayli saw the entire city of Boston lit up in the winter lights from the spot. She saw the Christmas trees downtown and the streets where the shops were lit up for the Holidays. Patrice put the car in park and Hayli leaned her head on his chest as they stared out of the window in front of him.
“It’s beautiful,” Hayli whispered sitting up straight in the seat.
Patrice smiled lightly, “It’s not as beautiful as you.”
Hayli smiled before leaning over him. Patrice smiled as Hayli straddled his lap and claimed his lips with her own. Patrice ran his hands under the shirt she wore, “Hmm…,” he challenged, “Let me be the judge of the shirt.”
Hayli smirked as she looked down and saw the shirt she wore said, “Pats fans are great kissers.”
Patrice grabbed Hayli’s hair and pulled her lips to his own. Patrice leaned her against the steering wheel and smirked as Hayli’s jeans fell down her hips.
“You’re making this too easy,” he smirked kissing her hips. Hayli pushed him back and unzipped the black sweater that clung to his body.
“I want you so bad,” Hayli whispered as she kissed Patrice’s chest. Patrice pulled her jeans off in one swift movement along with her pants and grabbed her roughly. Hayli gasped as Patrice licked her folds as he positioned her over his face.
“FUCK,” she screamed suddenly thankful for the tinted windows of the truck as she opened her eyes and looked down to see Patrice sucking her clit.
“You like that,” he asked as Hayli grinded herself against his face.
“God yes,” she moaned as Patrice grabbed her ass in his hands.
“PATRICE! OH FUCK,” she cried out as he inserted a finger into her and hit her gspot. Patrice smirked as he felt her come on his fingers.
She lifted herself off of him when he freed his fingers from inside of her and unzipped his pants before taking him into her mouth. Patrice let out a hiss as her teeth grazed his erection, “Hayli,” he growled as she continued to suck him off.
Hayli looked up at him and Patrice dropped his head back letting out a string of profanity as Hayli gripped his balls. Hayli hummed and Patrice knew he was close as she bobbed her head up and down. Patrice leaned up on his elbows and watched her before he jerked his hips up and shot his load into the back of her throat.
Patrice sat up and pinned Hayli against the steering wheel once again, “Do you have a condom,” he whispered and Hayli nodded her head before reaching into her purse and grabbing one out of her cosmetic bag.
Patrice took the foil packet from her hands and rolled it over his length before entering Hayli slowly, “Fuck,” she moaned throwing herself against the steering wheel causing the horn to honk. Patrice laughed as Hayli’s eyes shot open and her head fell onto Patrice’s chest.
“Maybe we should move this to the backseat,” Patrice chuckled as Hayli climbed into the backseat. Patrice climbed into the backseat and almost blew his load early as he watched Hayli touching herself. Patrice sat up as straight as he could and pulled her down onto his lap. Patrice gripped her hands onto the seat behind him and began riding him.
Patrice groaned as Hayli clenched herself around him. The only sounds that were heard were their moans and the series of curse words that were coming out of both of them.
Patrice reached in between them and tweaked Hayli’s clit with his thumb sending her over the edge as she collapsed on top of him. Patrice climaxed shortly after and gently kissed Hayli on the lips.
“Damn, look what we did to the windows,” he joked as Hayli reached for her shirt in the front seat.
Hayli’s phone rang and she reached into her purse to grab it, “TYLER,” she said, “I swear to God, I am going to murder Brad. I’m fine. Patrice saw me in Barnes and Noble and offered to give me a ride home. Yeah, he’s right here, hold on.”
Patrice muted the call before looking at Hayli, “I kind of feel weird talking to my teammate while my dick is in his girlfriend.”
Hayli swatted at his chest before climbing off of him to grab her pants in the front seat. Hayli threw the condom wrapper out of the window and turned the key to Patrice’s car so he could wind down the window. Patrice was talking to Tyler and peeled the condom off of his body before tossing it out the window.
“So nasty,” he whispered as Hayli handed him a Kleenex that she had in her purse along with hand sanitizer that she had so he could clean himself up.
Hayli squirted some in her hands and wiped Patrice’s face and neck off, “Thank you,” he mumbled and she pulled her shirt over her head and fixed her hair in the mirror of his car.
Patrice hung up the phone and got himself dressed before driving Hayli home. Patrice parked a few houses away and he leaned over to give Hayli a kiss before they both got out of the car.
Hayli didn’t even get a chance to open the door to the house before Tyler was in her arms, “I’m so sorry, baby,” he said, “I was so worried about you when Brad told me that he left you. I searched all over the BU campus for you.”
Hayli wrapped her arms around Tyler’s waist, “I am going to kill Brad.”
Tyler pulled away and kissed her. Patrice turned away not wanting to see the PDA before him, “Bergy, thank you so much for bringing her home,” Tyler said shaking his hand, “I will never be able to repay you.”
“You’re welcome, man,” Patrice replied, “We’ll both get Brad tomorrow. I have to get home, Stephanie is probably worried about me.”
“Thanks for the ride, Patrice,” Hayli smiled and Patrice knew there was a hidden meaning in her words.
“Anytime, goodnight guys,” Patrice replied.
“Goodnight Bergy,” Tyler said before pulling Hayli inside of the house.
Hayli walked upstairs to her and Tyler’s bedroom and shred her clothes. She was in desperate need of a shower and she wasted no time climbing in under the hot spray. Hayli was rinsing her hair when she felt Tyler come in behind her and wrap his arms around her waist.
“I am so sorry, baby,” he whispered as he kissed her.
“It’s okay,” Hayli whispered feeling bad for him, “I love you.”
“I love you, too. I punched him in the face if that makes you feel any better. Son of a bitch laughed it off.”
Hayli laughed, “Go figure, Brad can never be serious.”
Tyler laughed as he pinned Hayli against the wall, Tyler lifting her as the water fell around him and she wrapped her legs around his waist. Tyler reached between them and entered her slowly, “I love you,” he whispered as he began moving in and out of her slowly. Hayli was grateful that the water covered the tears she was crying as the guilt washed over her. She felt like a slut as she and Tyler made love in the shower not even an hour after she had cheated on him again with Patrice.
Tyler smiled down at her as they got out of the shower and wrapped the towels around them, “Come on, let’s get some sleep,” Tyler said dragging her towards the bed.
Tyler wrapped his arms around Hayli and he fell asleep immediately as Hayli stared at the wall. She could have swore she saw him in the mirror but she knew it was all in her head.
“You drive me crazy,” she whispered as she fell asleep in the arms of the man that loved her while dreaming of a man that wasn’t hers.

Chapter III-Lips of an Angel
Tyler smiled down at Hayli as he collapsed on top of her for the fifth time that morning; he was cleared to play again after he recovered from a high ankle sprain. He would be leaving Hayli for four days to go on the Bruins’ upcoming road trip to Pittsburgh then Winnipeg, where they would travel back to back then home again before leaving for another road game.
“I don’t want you to go,” Hayli whispered as Tyler tucked a strand of hair behind her ears.
Tyler kissed her softly, “I don’t want to go either but I have to. I’ll be back before you know it.”
Over the two months that Tyler was on the shelf with his injury, him and Hayli spent more time together than they had throughout the four years that they were together because Tyler was always busy with hockey. The past two months were nice and they fell even more in love that they were before.
Hayli had not seen or heard from Patrice in two weeks and she was grateful for that because it gave her more time to focus on her and Tyler’s relationship. They had spent the entire morning making love to each other before Tyler had to leave for the airport. Tyler’s alarm clock on his phone went off causing them to both groan as Tyler buried his face in Hayli’s shoulder, “Five more minutes.”
“Come on, let’s go take a shower,” Hayli said grabbing Tyler’s hand and pulling him with her towards their bathroom. They showered as quickly as they could, fooling around one more time before the water turned cold snapping them both back to reality.
Tyler groaned as Hayli pulled on the black lace bra and panties before sliding into one of his Bruins sweatshirts. Hayli tucked her jeans into her Uggs and grabbed Tyler’s car keys from the night stand.
“Do you want me to drive or are you driving?”
“I’ll drive,” Tyler smiled, “You can drive home.”
They drove to the airport in silence, Tyler holding Hayli’s hand the whole time as if his life depended on it. He never realized how much she was there for him until he needed her most. He loved her with everything he had and that’s why it was bittersweet leaving her.
Tyler pulled into the airport and Hayli sighed as she undid her seatbelt and got out. Tyler grabbed his bag out of the trunk and set it down on the ground. Hayli sighed as he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her forehead holding her to him.
She freed her hands from the hoodie pocket and wrapped them around him inhaling his scent. They stayed that way for several minutes since they wouldn’t see each other for almost a week.
“Please don’t go, Ty,” she said and Tyler heard the sadness in her voice.
“What’s gotten into you,” Tyler said pulling away giving her a kiss.
“I got used to having you around again, I’m sorry I’m overreacting.”
“No, baby, you’re not,” Tyler said pulling her to him once again.
“Come on man, we got to go,” Milan Lucic said to Tyler as he headed into the airport.
Hayli refused to let go and Tyler felt himself ready to cry, “I’ll be back before you know it, baby.”
“Call me when you land so I know you’re safe,” she replied pulling away to give him another kiss, “I love you.”
“I love you too,” Tyler smiled letting go of her hand before grabbing his bag heading into the airport.
Patrice watched the interaction from the terminal that the Bruins were flying out of and he want to throw up when Tyler kissed Hayli. He didn’t know what had gotten into him, he was happily married to Stephanie but Hayli made him feel something that he had never felt before and it scared him.
Patrice boarded the plane forgetting about the two of them outside of the window as he fell into conversation with Zdeno Chara, “Where’s Seguin,” Claude Julien asked Brad Marchand who sat alone on the plane.
“He was making out with his girlfriend outside last time I checked,” Johnny Boychuk called from his seat towards the back of the plane.
“What the fuck, Marchand make yourself useful and tell the stewardess to tell the pilot we’re not leaving until we have Seguin on board,” Coach Julien said as he exited the plane that was still in the terminal and he followed the path to where the Bruins parked.
“I got to go,” Tyler said as he gave Hayli one last kiss. He felt guilty as he walked away from her the first time and went back to hug her one last time.
“I love you,” she whispered wiping away the tear that had fallen from her eyes.
“SEGUIN, LET’S GO,” Claude Julien called from the terminal, “OR WE’RE LEAVING WITHOUT YOU!”
“I love you,” Tyler said smiling as he placed one last kiss on her lips.
Hayli watched him go and wiped her eyes to fix her make-up that had smudged, “Hey whore,” Jamie’s voice called out. Hayli turned around and saw Jamie coming towards her, “You look like you need a little retail therapy in your life,” she said as she hugged Hayli who nodded.
I left Brad the car so we can take yours and Tyler’s, “I need new lingerie for my man.”
“Oh make me puke,” Hayli said, “I do not know about you and the Smurf’s sex life.”
“Smurf,” Jamie laughed, “That’s a new one.”
“Let’s just get out of here before I run onto the plane and drag Tyler off,” Hayli said laughing as Jamie climbed into the passenger seat of Tyler’s Range Rover.
They drove to the closest Victoria’s Secret store which wasn’t that far away from the airport. They browsed around and Hayli couldn’t help but use all of the coupons that she had and in the end she got $1000 worth of stuff for almost $500. She wished they had a Bruins collection so she could wear the underwear for Tyler but he liked the Patriots since he was now into everything Boston had. She bought everything Patriots and Red Sox. Her credit card was now to the limit but she would pay it off on pay day when she got her pay check from the marketing firm she was currently working at.
Hayli was looking around the store after placing her bags in the car while she waited for Jamie to finish shopping when her phone went off. She saw that she had a text message from a number in Boston but she didn’t know who it was.
Does your boyfriend always brag to Marchand about your sex life?
Hayli looked at the text message and frowned before typing back a reply.
Who is this?
You know Segs really shouldn’t leave his phone hanging around the locker room unattended
Seriously, who the hell is this?
Calm down, it’s Patrice. I took your number out of Segs’ phone last week while he was in the shower
What are you talking about my boyfriend talks about my sex life to Brad?
He’s sitting here bragging about how he made you come six times this morning. I thought he’d respect you a little bit more than that.
Tyler had a huge amount of respect for Hayli, he felt guilty for telling Brad about their sex life but he at the same time wanted to brag to the older man that he could satisfy his girlfriend. Patrice knew that the younger men didn’t know he heard their conversation and it made him angry to know that Tyler was putting his and Hayli’s personal business out there. Brad had a big mouth and would tell the entire locker room. Patrice knew he would defend Hayli without making it obvious that he was having an affair with her.
I haven’t stopped thinking about you
Hayli looked through the racks of lingerie and spotted the leopard print cut out ruffled teddy. She tried it on and she knew she looked sexy in it. Tyler would have loved it but he didn’t deserve it after he bragged to Brad about their sex life. Hayli swallowed her pride and bought it for Patrice. It was against her better judgment but she needed to see the Frenchman.
Hayli swallowed hard as she sent the picture of herself wearing the lingerie to Patrice. It was out of character for her and she didn’t know what suddenly came over her besides the angry feeling towards Tyler.
Patrice felt the crotch of his pants tighten as he opened the attachment on his phone. Hayli looked beautiful with her long brown hair down and the lingerie on matching her dark skin tone.
Are you trying to kill me?
I figured Tyler didn’t deserve it so when you get back, it’s all yours if you want it
I want it really bad, trust me. My wife is out of town Wednesday through Tuesday, come over on Sunday when we get back Columbus?
I’ll think about it
Tell Segs you’re going to your friend’s house
Hayli deleted all of the text messages that she and Patrice had exchanged. Jamie was standing outside and Hayli paid for the lingerie, stuffing it in her purse so Jamie wouldn’t notice and she headed outside to the car where they drove to a nearby restaurant for lunch.
Patrice sat on the plane and listened to Brad ask questions about Hayli to Tyler. Patrice had heard enough and he leaned over the seat to say something to the two of them, “Tyler doesn’t have to answer any questions. It’s not your business what he does with his girlfriend. I don’t see you going around bragging about what you do with your girlfriend, so stay out of his business.”
Tyler smirked as Brad glared at Patrice, “Thank you,” Tyler mouthed and Patrice nodded his head turning around to finish the movie on his laptop. He was still angry with Tyler for telling intimate details of his and Hayli’s sex life but he saw how uncomfortable Tyler was with Brad interrogating him.
The Bruins returned home Wednesday night after going 1-1 on the road trip. Tyler was scratched for Tuesday’s game after missing a team meeting thanks to sleeping in after talking to Hayli all night on the phone. He didn’t take his scratch lightly and all he wanted to do when he got home was be in Hayli’s arms and sleep for hours with her next to him but he never got that chance because Hayli wasn’t home. There was a note on the counter telling him that she had went out with Carly and Anna.
Tyler sighed as he made his way to the bathroom where he took a hot shower and fell asleep alone in bed waiting for Hayli to come home.
Hayli let herself into Patrice’s house using the key that he had told her was in the flower pot by the door. Stephanie’s car was gone out of the garage which meant she was on her way back to Quebec to visit her family for almost a week.
“Hayli,” Patrice called out from the doorway, “Are you here?”
“I’m upstairs,” Hayli called out and Patrice kicked his shoes off at the door and ran up the stairs. He thanked God he only travelled home in a white button down shirt and dress pants. It made it easier to get undressed when he had to. When Patrice walked up the stairs, he saw the lights to one of the guestrooms on.
“This isn’t my room,” he said.
“I think you owe it to your wife not to fuck someone else in your bed,” Hayli replied, “I already feel guilty as it is and I don’t want to feel even worse.”
Patrice smirked as he made his way over to the bed and ran his calloused hands over her exposed sides causing her to shiver, “You’re so fucking hot. Seriously, do you know how many cold showers I took every time I looked at that picture,” he whispered into her ear as he pushed her back roughly on the bed. Hayli removed his shirt and ran her hands over his chest and stomach before their lips met in another heated kiss. Before Hayli knew it, Patrice entered her swiftly and she moaned his name as he made her come like she never had before, not even with Tyler. Patrice was gentle and took his time whispering sweet nothings in her ear as he reached his climax and collapsed on top of her.
The two of them laid there for a while and Hayli was almost asleep when she stood up to get dressed, “I have to go,” she said as Patrice groaned.
“Stay the night, please,” he asked.
“I have to get home to Tyler, he thinks I’m out with Carly and Anna. I’ll make it up to you, I promise.”
“You better,” Patrice smirked, “I’ll call you.”
Hayli leaned down and gave him a quick kiss but Patrice grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards him. He deepened the kiss and Hayli groaned as his beard brushed her chest as he licked her cleavage, “I really have to go.”
“Are you sure,” Patrice smirked.
“I’ll see you this weekend.”
“I’m holding you to that,” he called out as he heard her walk down the stairs and the door shut behind her.
Hayli arrived home and took a shower before climbing in bed next to Tyler who was asleep. Kissing his cheek, she whispered she loved him before turning over and going to sleep feeling the guilt wash over her again.
Tyler woke up the next morning with Hayli’s head on his chest and he looked at the clock next to the bed. He had morning skate which meant Hayli would still be asleep when he came back home. When he arrived home, he saw Hayli cooking pasta for him to eat before he left for the game.
“Nice to see your home,” Tyler spat causing Hayli to snap her head up from the griddle of chicken that she was cooking.
“Excuse me,” she asked.
“I thought you’d be out with Carly and Anna, clearly they are more important than I am to you.”
“You are psycho,” she replied turning the chicken off before putting it on the cutting board that was on the counter.
“I came home last night and all I wanted to do was come home to my girlfriend but I couldn’t because she was out with her friends. I needed you last night after fucking being scratched on Tuesday and you weren’t here.”
“You seriously need to calm down. I don’t see you for four days and when I do, this is how you treat me?”
“Whatever, I’m going to take a nap.”
Hayli winced as she heard their bedroom door slam. The Bruins were shut out that night by Jose Theodore and the Florida Panthers which made Tyler even crankier than he was. He spent all day Friday at Brad and Jamie’s before leaving for Columbus without saying goodbye while Jamie and Hayli went out drinking. The Bruins brought home the win from Columbus and Hayli was on her way to Patrice’s house shortly after Tyler had gotten home. They had gotten into another fight because he was still mad about everything that had happened on Wednesday.
Hayli called Patrice and he told her to come spend the night since Tyler was being a jackass. When Hayli arrived, Patrice opened the door and pulled her into the house kissing her as if she was coming home from a long day at work. Patrice’s hands fiddled with the hem of her t-shirt but she pushed him away.
“Not tonight,” she whispered, “I’m sorry but I really just need some sleep.”
Patrice nodded his head and guided Hayli over to the couch. He turned on Christmas Vacation and he heard Hayli’s breathing become even. She was sound asleep on his chest and he kissed her forehead before turning the TV off. Laying back on the couch, Patrice brought Hayli down gently on his chest and wrapped the quilt around the two of them before he two drifted off to sleep.
Hayli woke up in the middle of the night to her phone ringing, “Hello,” she grumbled.
“Please come home,” Tyler begged, “I can’t sleep without you, where are you?”
“I crashed at Lindsay’s last night,” she lied, “I’ll be home in the morning.”
“I’m sorry for being an asshole,” Tyler said and Hayli looked down at Patrice who was getting ready to snore. Hayli stood up and walked into kitchen where she finished the call with Tyler.
“I’m sorry too.”
“You didn’t do anything wrong.”
Hayli was doing something wrong, she was doing Patrice, “Get some sleep,” Hayli said, “I love you and I’ll be home in the morning.”
“I love you too,” he said, “Goodnight, baby.”
“Goodnight, Tyler.”
Patrice heard Hayli on the phone when he woke up because he no longer felt her laying on his chest. He knew it was Tyler and Hayli was torn between her boyfriend and him, both he and Hayli were just as guilty in this whole situation. They both knew it was wrong but to them it felt right and they were both making it hard to be faithful.

Chapter II-Beautiful Liar
Hayli closed the door behind her quietly and put her wristlet on the kitchen counter before walking to her and Tyler's bedroom. Tyler was sound asleep on his stomach with the sheets hanging low on his waist.
Hayli tip-toed to the bed and pulled the sheet down and the blanket over him, kissing his cheek before going into the bathroom to take a shower. Throwing her dress into the hamper by the door, Hayli grabbed a towel from the cabinet below the sink. Looking into the mirror, Hayli saw the mascara tracks from her crying the whole way home in the cab.
Tyler didn't deserve this; he'd been the best thing that had ever happened to Hayli. The two of them met in high school, Tyler being the popular jock and Hayli the nerd.
Tyler never gave Hayli the time of day, until his parents bought a house that happened to be right next door to Hayli and her family. Their rooms were directly across from each other. Hayli was sitting next to the sliding door doing homework in her room when she saw the dark figure standing outside.
She screamed causing her books to fall on the floor when she heard someone laugh.
"I'm so sorry," Tyler said, "I didn't mean to scare you."
"Jesus Christ," she said, "What the hell are you doing here?"
"I needed help with my Physics homework," he smiled stepping into the room.
"If you'd stop staring at Susie Hoskank's tits for five minutes in class, maybe you would know what you're doing."
Tyler stood there like a statue not knowing what to say, Hayli had put him in his place and he was too stunned to say anything.
"Never mind," he said, "I'll do it myself or I'll just copy Tyler's tomorrow."
Tyler turned to leave and Hayli grabbed his arm, "Sit down," she demanded pointing to the floor. Tyler did as he was told and opened his book to the right page as Hayli took a seat across from him.
“Who discovered the modern day battery,” Tyler asked going through the review questions.
“Look on page 50, it’s on there,” Hayli replied growing irritated with Tyler who just wanted the answers and didn’t want to do any work.
“You’re not going to tell me the answer?”
“You don’t learn that way, you learn by challenging yourself and actually picking up the book every once and awhile.”
Tyler turned the page and read through page before writing down an answer, “Faraday,” he asked and Hayli nodded her head.
The two of them finished their homework in silence before Tyler stood up to leave, “Thanks for the help,” he replied smiling.
“You’re welcome, see you tomorrow.”
“Want a ride?”
“My mom usually drops me off before she leaves for work at 6.”
“I leave at 7:30, sleep in a little bit, I’ll drive you.”
“Tyler, don’t take this the wrong way but I am already picked on, showing up with you will just make it worse.”
Tyler reached out and hugged Hayli, “Just trust me,” he whispered before walking out of the door and across the lawn to his house.
Hayli snapped out of her thoughts and stared at the person in the mirror. Wiping her eyes of the tears before removing her make-up, she slipped into the shower and let the hot water relax her body. Hayli showered until the water went cold. When she slipped back into the room wearing a towel, she saw Tyler was still sleeping. Looking at the clock and noticing it was only eight o’clock in the morning; Hayli walked over to the dresser and grabbed a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt before heading into the living room.
Lying down on the couch, Hayli sighed as she fell asleep. She felt too guilty to crawl into bed next to Tyler after spending the night with Patrice. Tyler woke up to find an empty bed next to him, he wiped the sleep out of his eyes as he stood up and saw Hayli’s shoes. He walked down the hall to the living room and saw her on the couch. Tyler kissed her forehead before deciding to let her sleep. After he showered, he wrapped a towel around his waist and stood behind the couch gently shaking her awake.
“Hayli,” he whispered, “Baby, wake up.”
“Tyler,” she mumbled and he smiled before walking around the couch to sit down on the coffee table that was facing her.
“Happy birthday, baby,” he said as she sat up and he kissed her on the lips.
“Thank you.”
Hayli felt her stomach drop as Tyler smiled at her. Tyler sat down next to her on the couch and Hayli crawled into his lap wrapping her arms around his waist, and putting her head on his chest.
“Are you okay,” he asked.
“I’m fine,” she lied, “Just tired.”
Tyler kissed her forehead gently and Hayli kissed his jaw, “Are you still drunk,” he joked causing her to laugh.
“No, I’m fine, just hung over. I missed you so much last night.”
Tyler smiled, “I missed you too. I was lonely without you here.”
“I love you,” she whispered feeling the dagger go deeper in her heart.
“I love you too,” Tyler replied reaching underneath the couch cushion, pulling out a card envelope that he had hidden there that contained the spa package he had gotten her for her birthday.
“What’s this,” she asked.
“It’s your Birthday present.”
Hayli smiled as she ripped the envelope open and saw the gift certificate to the Bella Santé spa, the most expensive spa in Boston.
“Tyler,” she gasped.
“You deserved it, you work so hard with school and you are always home alone when I’m gone, I figured it’d be nice for you to escape for a day.”
“Thank you,” she replied giving him a kiss, “I love it.”
“Read the card,” he said as Hayli opened it.
Dear Hayli,
I love you with all of my heart; you are the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I know I can’t give you the world but I’ll give you whatever I can to make your world perfect since you are my world. I know you hate it when I am gone but never once have you complained. You have supported me through everything and I just wanted you to know that I love you very much. I know we’re young, and we have a long road ahead of us, but look how long we’ve lasted. Love,
Tyler
Hayli looked up at Tyler and let the tears fall freely. The letter was the last nail in the coffin that Hayli had found herself in, and she buried her head in his chest and cried. Tyler rubbed her back soothingly and whispered how much he loved her in her ear.
Hayli decided to put on a mask, pretend like nothing was wrong, and enjoy the day that Tyler had planned for them. When they pulled apart, Tyler kissed her forehead and leaned his forehead against hers, “Brad and Jamie are joining us tonight, it was important to Jamie that she go with us because she didn’t get to go last night. I hope you don’t mind.”
“I don’t mind at all, I’d like that,” Hayli smiled.
“Want to go get some lunch, just the two of us?”
“Sure,” Hayli smiled as she stood up from the couch and headed to their bedroom to get dressed. She noticed Tyler behind her in the mirror as she finished her mascara, “I still think you’re beautiful without it,” he smiled as Hayli set the tube down on her side of the sink.
Hayli looked up and smiled as she unscrewed the lid off of her lip gloss, “I think you’re beautiful too,” she said causing Tyler to laugh.
“Brad tells me all the time,” he joked causing Hayli to roll her eyes.
“I forgot, Jamie and I are in a relationship with the lovers of the Boston Bruins.”
“Bite me,” Tyler said wrapping his arms around her waist as he stared at her in the mirror.
“Maybe later,” Hayli replied leaning her head against his chest. Tyler kissed the side of her neck and Hayli smiled even though she wanted to cry as Tyler’s lips hit the make-up covered hickey from Patrice.
“I’m holding you to that,” he replied, “Are you ready?”
Hayli nodded her head and they left the apartment to head over to Caffé Vittoria, a small Italian café in Boston that Tyler knew was Hayli’s favorite restaurant, tonight he was taking her to L’Espalier, a small French restaurant in the city. Brad insisted on Tremont 647 but Tyler told him no because it was the restaurant where him and Brad were known as the shirtless drunks on the bar.
Tyler and Hayli made small talk over lunch and they walked around the city taking in the Boston fall in Boston Common.
“Let’s go on a boat ride,” Tyler said and Hayli nodded her head in agreement as Tyler lead her to the small bridge.
Tyler wrapped his arm around her waist and they were cuddled together on the small bench on the boat as they rowed down the small pond. Hayli forgot all about what had happened the night before as Tyler placed a kiss on her lips and they got lost in their own little world.
Tyler kept his arm around Hayli as they docked and headed to their car to head home. Time flew by, and before they knew it, it was time to go home and get changed to head out with Brad and Jamie.
“What’s up Ho-li,” Brad said as Hayli stepped into the living room.
“Don’t you look handsome,” she said complimenting Brad who was completely shocked that she didn’t fire back an insult.
“Aw, no comeback, princess?”
“Leave her alone before I slap the shit out of you,” Jamie said hugging Hayli, “Happy Birthday, sweetie.”
“Thanks,” Hayli smiled fixing the purple dress that she was wearing. Jamie was wearing a black dress with lace sleeves, both Brad and Tyler had on suits.
“They clean up nicely, don’t they,” Hayli said as Brad and Tyler argued in the mirror over who looked the hottest.
“You both look like tools,” Jamie snapped, “Let’s go.”
Tyler drove them to the restaurant in his Range Rover, “I was going to book a limo but not even Tyler Seguin can get a limo at the last minute. There isn’t enough glass seats in the world for the owner and his kids.”
“Oh, how tragic,” Brad said, “Strap the bitch to the roof.”
“We need two cars, one for you and one for your nose,” Hayli said and Brad kneed the back of her seat.
“Bradley,” Jamie snapped, “Act your fucking age for once in your life.”
Tyler laughed, reaching across the console, taking Hayli’s hand in his own. Hayli smiled slightly before staring out the window watching the skyline appear in the distance.
When they arrived to the restaurant, Hayli and Jamie went to the bathroom to fix their make-up. Tyler and Brad were seated at a table in the back; the restaurant was crowded on a Saturday night as usual. Patrice and his wife, Stephanie walked into the restaurant.
“Patrice,” Brad greeted standing up, “What’s up?”
“Not much, how are you guys,” Patrice asked shaking both of their hands.
“We’re great, just out celebrating my girl’s birthday,” Tyler replied and Patrice felt his palms go sweaty at the mention of Hayli.
“Tell her that I said Happy Birthday,” Patrice smiled.
“Why don’t you guys join us,” Brad said, “We have two extra chairs and Tyler doesn’t mind, the more, the merrier right?”
Patrice asked Stephanie if it was okay with her and she agreed. Patrice pulled out the chair for her and they sat down falling into conversation with both Tyler and Brad. Patrice was hoping that Stephanie would say no because he knew it would be awkward between him and Hayli.
Hayli and Jamie were walking back from the bathroom when Hayli stopped dead in her tracks as she noticed Patrice sitting at the table. He was talking to Brad when he looked up and caught her eye; he smiled slightly as Jamie turned around and asked her if she was okay. Hayli lied and said she was before she sat down next to Tyler giving him a kiss on his cheek feeling Patrice’s eyes on her.
The only open seat after Jamie sat down was in between Tyler and Patrice. Stephanie wished her a “Happy Birthday,” and Hayli felt the bile rise in her throat. After dinner was over and they fell into conversation about the parade, Hayli felt a hand brush her thigh repeatedly. She gasped as she felt the finger tips grace the inside of her thigh, looking over at Patrice who was smirking as the table wasn’t paying attention to him, she slapped his hand away and moved her chair closer to Tyler.
Tyler smiled at her as she leaned closer; he placed a kiss on her lips before the waiter brought a cake out to the table. The table quietly sang to Hayli. Hayli excused herself from the table to go to the bathroom after they finished the cake. Hayli was standing in the sink splashing her face with water when she felt someone come in behind her.
“It’s just me,” Patrice whispered.
“Get the hell out of here,” Hayli snapped, “I told you we were done this morning.”
“Hayli,” he whispered reaching out for her, “Don’t say that.”
Hayli left the bathroom and rejoined them at the table, “Are you ready to go,” Tyler asked as she came back to the table.
“I’m ready when you are,” she smiled fidgeting.
“Are you okay,” he asked.
“I’m fine, I promise,” she replied and Tyler took her word and they headed back to their apartment where Hayli was going to open her gift from Brad and Jamie.
As they drove back to the apartment, Hayli felt guilty. Tyler had made her birthday special, and she was grateful but she couldn’t enjoy it lying to him and to herself that she was done with Patrice.
I can’t laugh about it
It’s not worth my time
I can live without him
Just a beautiful liar
You are my everything, I know I’m not the easiest person to live with, and I don’t tell you how much you mean to me but just know you mean a lot and I love you more than anything in this entire world.

Chapter I-You and Tequila
Tyler Seguin hobbled down the hall of his apartment in Boston on his crutches. Tonight was his girlfriend’s twenty-first birthday and he would be served at the clubs in Boston if he went out but he was out with a high ankle sprain and was ordered to stay home and rest, so he was listening to the doctor’s orders and staying in. There would be no shirtless table dancing for him and Brad tonight which put a damper on their plans to be Hayli’s strippers.
“Babe, what time are you leaving,” Tyler asked stepping into the room where Hayli was sitting at the desk in their bedroom with a mirror in front of her putting her make-up on.
Hayli smiled at him in the mirror as she finished putting her mascara on, “We’re leaving at nine.”
Tyler wrapped his arms around her waist before nuzzling his face in her neck, “I don’t know why you wear all of that make-up, you’re beautiful.”
“Thanks baby,” she replied, “I wish you could come with me.”
“Me too, trust me if I had it my way I’d be there.”
“Can’t you just go against the doctor’s orders for one night,” she asked turning around so she was face to face with Tyler who smiled down at her and kissed her lips.
“Mmm, I wish,” he said pulling away when the doorbell rang.
“That’d be Lindsay, Anna, and Carly,” Hayli said standing up, “I’ll call you later. Is Brad coming over to keep you company?”
“Yep,” Tyler replied, “Jamie has to work the night shift at the hospital tonight.”
“I know, that’s why she couldn’t come out tonight.”
Hayli walked out of the room and Tyler hobbled after her, “Be safe,” he said as she opened the door and he waved to Lindsay.
“I will,” she smiled giving him a kiss, “Get some rest until Brad gets here. I love you.”
“I love you too,” Tyler whispered against her lips.
Hayli pulled away and Tyler pulled her to him once more, “I mean it, be safe. I worry about you, a lot.”
“I worry about you too, especially after the Lokomotiv crash.”
“I’ll always be here,” Tyler said giving her another kiss, “I don’t want to ruin your night and make you late, have fun,” he smiled and Hayli walked around down the hall with Lindsay.
Hayli arrived at Royale Nightclub in Boston with her friends and they went straight to the bar to get Hayli a drink. After showing the bartender her ID, Hayli ordered a Long Island Iced Tea and headed towards the VIP room that Tyler had booked for them.
Hayli and the girls sat in the VIP room laughing and drinking their drinks dancing around the empty room since the dance floor was packed. Hayli looked at her watch and gestured to the door. Lindsay nodded her head and Hayli slipped out to call Tyler.
“Hey baby,” Tyler said and she heard gunshots in the background which meant him and Brad were playing Gears of War or Call of Duty whatever game they felt was popular at the moment.
“How’s your ankle,” Hayli asked.
“Eh, it’s propped up on the coffee table while Brad and I play xBox.”
“He isn’t shirtless, is he? I don’t need his pork fat stains on the furniture,” she said and Tyler laughed.
“What she say about me,” Hayli heard Brad ask in the background.
“She said you better have a shirt on because she doesn’t need your pork fat stains on the couch.”
“HI BITCH,” Brad shouted, “FOR YOUR INFORMATION, I AM NOT FAT!”
“Bradley, you are in that river in Egypt again,” Hayli joked earning a fuck you and she heard Tyler laugh.
“Are you drunk yet,” Tyler asked.
“Nope, not yet, I’m sure you will be getting a drunken phone call from me telling you all of the things that I want to do to you. Which by the way, I owe you after your wakeup call this morning,” Hayli smirked knowing Tyler was blushing on the other end.
“Hey,” he warned knowing Brad would have it spread throughout the locker room with his big mouth.
Hayli laughed, “I’m going to head back in, I’ll call you later. I love you.”
“Love you too, be safe, and Hayli,” Tyler said before she hung up.
“Yeah!”
“Don’t do anything that I wouldn’t do,” he joked before ending the call causing Hayli to laugh.
Brad was now on the other end and made a kissing noise and said he loved her too earning another fuck you from Hayli who shook her head before heading back into the club. Making her way back to the VIP room, Hayli grabbed her clutch and headed back to the bar for another drink.
“What can I get for you,” the bartender asked.
“Long Island iced tea,” Hayli replied when she felt a body squeeze in next to her and ask for a Miller Lite. Hayli wasn’t paying attention to the man when she heard the accent, turning her head slightly, she recognized him as Tyler’s teammate.
“Hi Patrice,” she said to the tall Frenchman.
Patrice turned his head and looked at her for a second before it dawned upon him who she was, “It’s Hayli, right,” he asked.
“Yep,” she smiled, “How are you?”
“I’m good, how about you? Is Segs here?”
“Nope, he’s at home resting his ankle with Brad keeping him company.”
“So, let me get this straight…he’s spending time with his boyfriend while his girlfriend is out on the town with her friends? Are you even old enough to drink?”
“Just turned twenty-one today,” Hayli replied proudly as the bartender set her and Patrice’s drinks on the bar.
Hayli went to hand the bartender the twenty dollar bill when Patrice moved her hand out of the way and told the bartender he was paying for the both of them.
“Patrice, you didn’t have to do that,” she said.
“Happy Birthday,” he said smiling turning so that his back was leaning against the bar and he could overlook the dance floor, “Where are your friends?”
“In the VIP room, Tyler booked it for us. Thanks for the drink by the way.”
“Anytime,” Patrice replied with a smile.
Hayli and Patrice made their way to the VIP room after a couple of fans noticed he was there and kept bothering him.
“Hey guys,” Hayli said as Patrice followed her into the VIP room, “This is Patrice, Tyler’s teammate.”
“Nice to meet you, I’m Lindsay.”
Patrice shook her hand before being stripped from his garments by the eyes of Carly and Anna, “Are they always like this,” Patrice asked as Anna sipped from her straw seductively.
“Only around hot guys,” Hayli replied not realizing what she said and Patrice smirked. Anna, Carly, and Lindsay made their way to the dance floor.
“Want to dance,” Patrice asked Hayli who nodded her head. Holding out his hand, Patrice lead Hayli to the dance floor.
“Yeah 3x” by Chris Brown was playing and Hayli moved to the beat.
“Want another drink,” he asked when the song was over and Hayli nodded her head before following him to the bar.
After several shots of tequila later, both Hayli and Patrice losing count after the tenth one, they were drunk. Anna, Carly, and Lindsay were back in the VIP room and both Hayli and Patrice were lost in their own little world on the dance floor. Hayli felt the proximity between the two of them grow closer and soon they were grinding to whatever music the DJ was playing.
“Let’s get out of here,” Patrice whispered in Hayli’s ear and they headed for the door.
Patrice waved down a taxi and Hayli was too drunk to even realize what was going on, “Where to,” the driver asked.
“Closest hotel,” Patrice said tossing the driver a hundred dollar bill as he pulled Hayli towards him and claimed his lips with hers. Hayli moaned as his fingers ran up and down her bare arms.
“Patrice,” she moaned as he kissed the skin above her breasts.
The driver pulled up in front of a Holiday Inn and Patrice booked a room. Before the doors of the elevators were closed, Patrice had Hayli pinned up against the wall. Both of them too drunk to notice that they were cheating on their significant others.
Patrice pulled away from Hayli and grabbed her hand leading her down the hall to the room. Sliding the keycard into the door, Patrice threw it on the dresser before grabbing Hayli and throwing her down on the bed. Patrice unzipped her dress and slid it off eagerly before he removed her bra and underwear leaving her there naked touching herself as he stared at her.
“Merde,” he muttered as she climbed to her knees and undid the white button down he was wearing with the sleeves rolled up. Sliding the shirt off of his shoulders, she moved her lips to his collarbone. Patrice groaned as Hayli ran a fingernail over his jean clad erection.
Hayli unfastened his pants and found him with no boxers on, smirking; she let the denim fall to the floor. Patrice couldn’t hold back anymore and grabbed a condom from the box that he had purchased in the hotel gift shop and slid it over his length. Throwing Hayli on her back, Patrice entered her with one swift thrust causing her to cry out in pleasure.
Patrice picked up his pace and soon Hayli was clawing his back with her nails and they were crying out each other’s names as they both went over the edge. Patrice collapsed on top of her kissing her neck gently before sliding out of her and throwing the used condom into the trashcan beside the bed. Pulling the blankets over them, Patrice and Hayli fell into a drunken slumber.
Hayli groaned as she heard her phone ringing, she woke up and felt arms around her waist and when she looked around the room she noticed she was in a hotel. Looking down at the sleeping body next to her, she gasped and put her hand to her mouth in disbelief as she looked under the sheets and saw that both she and Patrice were naked.
PATRICE?
Hayli knew she was in trouble; she slept with one of Tyler’s teammates. One of his married teammates at that, she had just cheated on her boyfriend of four years who had remained faithful to her throughout that time.
Her thoughts were interrupted again as her cell phone rang, grabbing it out of the clutch that was abandoned on the pile with her clothes, she answered the call.
“Hey baby, where are you? It’s late,” Tyler asked.
“I’m so sorry, I got drunk and Lindsay took me home with her,” Hayli lied, “I’ll be home in the morning.”
“I got worried,” Tyler admitted making Hayli feel guilty, “I couldn’t sleep until I knew you were safe.”
“I’ll be home in the morning, I promise,” Hayli said suddenly feeling lips on the back of her neck as Patrice moved hair out of the way.
“Alright, I love you,” Tyler said.
Hayli felt her heart in her throat, “I love you too,” she whispered ending the call before turning to look at Patrice.
“Aren’t you married,” she asked and Patrice nodded his head.
“Aren’t you with Segs,” he asked suddenly turning Hayli’s question around on her.
“This can’t happen again,” she said standing up to collect her clothes but Patrice grabbed her wrist and pulled her down on top of him entering her slowly.
“It’s going to happen again,” he smirked against her lips as their bodies rocked together, “You and that tequila made me crazy, you think I’m giving that up?”
Hayli knew hockey players were stubborn, she knew one her whole life and she also knew that this situation she suddenly found herself in was one she wasn’t going to give up so easily, she had the drug once and suddenly she was hooked.
